Participants are grouped by grade level, and where appropriate, by ability level.
- Clinics will take place on a turf field so sneakers or cleats are required.
- The clinics are played entirely outdoors, but bathrooms are available.
COST (FEE INCLUDES A SWAX LAX BALL)
6-week session: $265
K–2nd grade: required equipment includes: boys lacrosse stick.
3rd–6th grade: required equipment includes: boys lacrosse stick, helmet, gloves, arm pads, shoulder pads, and a mouthpiece; cleats are optional but play is on a turf field.
Swax Lax Lacrosse will refund registration fees, less a $25 admin charge, for cancellations communicated to us in writing at least two weeks prior to the program start date. No refunds will be issued within two weeks of the program start date.
In the event that Swax Lax Lacrosse needs to cancel a session due to an unforeseen conflict or if our clinic location is closed as mandated by the CDC, local health, school, or other government agencies, participants will receive a pro-rated refund of the clinic fee.
There are no refunds or credits for weather-related cancellations or make-up dates for this program. In addition, fees cannot be pro-rated in the event a player cannot attend all six sessions.
A TYPICAL DAY: WHAT TO EXPECT AT OUR FALL CLINICS
At Swax Lax Lacrosse clinics, we typically address two important lacrosse skills at each session. Players will learn the proper technique for the basic skills, including: ground ball pick-ups, throwing, catching, dodging, defensive footwork, and shooting.
We believe that regardless of whether our players are learning the skills for the first time or ready to take their game to the next level, the only way to improve is to have a ton of fun and get lots of repetition. After the players have an opportunity to work on technique with the coaches in a small group setting, then it’s time to play games and small-sided scrimmages to show off their stuff!
Here is a sampling:
- Clean Your Room for ground balls
- Lacrosse Skeet for shooting
- Sharks and Minnows for dodging
- 1v1s; 2v2s; 3v3s to simulate game situations
We usually end the clinic with a relay race that incorporates the skills of the day. Finally, coaches award the coveted Player of the Day stickers to players who demonstrate special effort or who master a specific skill.
Bottom line: a typical day at a Swax Lax Lacrosse clinic is just plain fun.
